Legal
Terms of
Service
Last updated: September 28, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Talkie about using the Talkie app and website (together, "Talkie"). By creating an account or posting on Talkie, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Talkie.
1. Who can use Talkie
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these Terms on your behalf.
2. Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google and are responsible for activity on your account. Your username must not impersonate anyone, include someone else's personal information, or be offensive. We may change or remove usernames that break these Terms.
3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Talkie has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You may not post comments or choose usernames that:
- harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate anyone;
- contain hate speech or slurs, or attack people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics;
- are sexually explicit, or sexualize minors in any way;
- promote violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
- share someone's private information without permission;
- are spam, scams, or advertising;
- impersonate others or infringe someone else's rights, including copyright.
You also may not try to get around a ban or block, interfere with Talkie's operation, or access it through automated means.
4. Reporting, blocking, and enforcement
You can report any comment and block any user from inside the app. We review reports and act on them. We may remove any content and suspend or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms, at our discretion and without notice. Comments reported by multiple users may be hidden automatically while they're reviewed. To report a username or anything else, email support@gettalkie.app.
5. Your content
You own the comments you post. By posting, you give Talkie a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your comments as part of operating Talkie. This license ends when you delete the comment or your account, except for copies in backups that are overwritten over time. You're responsible for what you post and confirm you have the right to post it.
Comments are public. Please be kind about spoilers — they're pinned to a moment for a reason.
6. Movie and TV information
Movie and TV information and images come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Talkie isn't affiliated with any studio, network, or streaming service, and titles and artwork belong to their respective owners.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account anytime in the app (Profile → Settings → Delete account). This permanently deletes your account, username, and comments. We may also suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we stop operating Talkie.
8. Disclaimers
Talkie is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't guarantee Talkie will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content will be accurate. Comments reflect the views of the users who post them, not Talkie.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Talkie won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Talkie. Talkie's total liability for any claim related to Talkie is limited to $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
10. Apple App Store
If you downloaded Talkie from the App Store: these Terms are between you and Talkie, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Talkie or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and isn't responsible for any claims relating to Talkie (including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property claims). To the extent a warranty applies and Talkie fails to conform to it, you may notify Apple for a refund of any purchase price (Talkie is free), and Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you're not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and aren't on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If changes are meaningful, we'll update the date above and may ask you to agree again in the app. Continuing to use Talkie after changes take effect means you accept them.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
